Remembrance Sunday Service – Stoke Cenotaph

About

Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Kingsway, Stoke-on-Trent, commencing at 10.40am on Sunday 13th November 2022.

This will be an outdoor service only with the wreath laying and Parade. Reverend Canon Andrew Wickens will lead the Service of Remembrance and as usual this will be attended by Civic Dignitaries, Veterans and members of the Armed Forces.

Wreath laying / Standard Bearers - It is important that we have a complete list for wreaths being laid and Standard Bearers attending. Please can you confirm by either telephone 01782 236663 or email lord.mayor@stoke.gov.uk by 24 October 2022 with your contact details (name/organisation/contact details). I understand that you may be attending one of the other Remembrance Services across the city, however you are more than welcome to send a representative to lay a wreath, take part in the parade and be part of the Service at the Stoke Cenotaph.

Please register your arrival with the Parade Marshal by 10.30 a.m. on the day (no more than two people per wreath please) who will be located at the main entrance to the King's Hall. Please bring your wreath with you on the day.
Parade Arrangements - If you wish to take part in the Parade, please form up adjacent to the White Star Public House, on Kingsway by no later than 10.30 a.m. Geoff Harriman will be our usual Parade Marshall. Medals can be worn.

Car Parking – Please note that a road closure will be in place on Kingsway from 8.00 a.m. however, access to the Kingsway Car Park via Glebe Street junction will be available until 10.15 a.m. only and re-open as soon as possible after the Service.
