Stoke Town Hall
Find the perfect venue and meeting space at Stoke Town Hall...
Stoke Town Hall, the largest town hall within the city, dates back to 1834. The building has a unique history, once home to Stoke-upon-Trent’s market, police station, Magistrates Court, council chambers and offices. It even housed a School of Design and private members club, a favourite venue of the Dukes of Sutherland.
Originally designed by Henry Ward, the Town Hall was extended after the federation of the six towns in 1910 on the orders of one of the last Mayors of Stoke-upon-Trent, Alderman Geen. The 1910 extension saw the construction of the magnificent Kings Hall, built to seat over 3,000 people, and the enlarged council chamber and committee rooms. This extension cemented the building’s future as the civic home of the city, and still houses council meetings and civic events today.
To mark the Silver Jubilee of George V in 1935, the Jubilee Hall was created for special events and occasions. The hall, adored by magnificent stained glass windows, has unique features such as the Bottle Kiln clock face and Pottery Worker silhouetted radiator guards.
The Town Hall hosted countless prestigious events, including numerous Freedom of the City ceremonies, Royal visits from home and abroad as well as iconic music concerts including The Beatles, The Who, ACDC and the infamous Northern Soul all-nighters.
Today, the prestigious Victorian Town Hall is still home to the city's council chamber and boasts a beautiful and fully equipped hall and a number of select meeting rooms and suites each presenting outstanding individual charactistics and décor.
The building is ideally located in the centre of Stoke Town, located within easy walking distance from Stoke railway station; and placed next to the A500 linking juntions 15 & 16 of the M6 motorway with ample parking available next to the building at Kingsway.
